Jean A. Tohm • 1923- 2011 Jean Alda Fraser was born October 12, 1923 in, Bottineau, ND to Duncan and Alda (McFadden) Fraser. Her father Duncan was a former North Dakota State Senator. She graduated from Omemee High School, Omemee, ND. Jean married Carl Tohm on April 12, 1943. They made their home near Gardena, where they farmed for several years. While living in Gardena Jean worked at St. Andrews Hospital in Bottineau as a Nursing Assistant. In 1981 they moved to Westhope. Carl passed away in 1992 and shortly after Jean moved to Minot. Jean was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Gardena, and while living in Minot was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She loved sewing quilt tops for the church and embroidered many dish towels for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. Those who shared in her life, children, Allan Tohm, Minot, Richard (Dolly Botka) Tohm, Mohall, ND, Lorraine Sue Tohm, Peggy (Wayne) Lentz and Linda (Donald Tucker) Tohm, all of Minot, ND, Bonnie (Bert) Olton, Palmyra, NY; sons-in-law, Ronald Houmann, Westhope, ND and Jim Kraus, Minot; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; daughters, Dorothy Houmann and Sheri Kraus; her parents; brothers, Robert and Loren Fraser; sisters, Elizabeth Bergman, Ruth Duff, Marion Hancock and Evelyn Gausser. Funeral: Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: Friday, May 13, 2011, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: Saturday at 2:30 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Gardena, ND. Officiating Clergy: Pastor Paul Krueger and Interim Pastor Josh Baumann Music Active Bearers: Jason Sveund, Michael Houmann, Robert Kraus, Rick Kraus, Ben Tohm, Daniel Lentz, Jacob Lentz, Jeremy Rel, Keegan Olton Following the funeral everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the church fellowship hall. The three roses Mom is holding are in memory of Dad, Dorothy and Sheri. Our family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown during this difficult time.
