Marian Barbara Thompson
• 1911 - 2007 Marian's parents Anton and Elizabeth (Zerr) Burgard and their two sons left their home in the Ukraine to come to the United States in 1910. They settled near central North Dakota in the town of Selz, where Marian was born on April 13, 1911. When Marian was three or four years old they moved to Orrin, ND. She left home at the age of 18 and moved to Towner, ND. She met Peter Thompson and they married on June 24, 1932. They moved to Bowbells where she lived until the time of her death. Her husband Peter passed away July 3, 1972. Marian enjoyed traveling to visit her children and family. She kept busy with her home, cooking, baking and flowers. Marian was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bowbells, ND. Those who shared in her life, Daughter, Delores (Del) Lussenden, Withie, WI; sons, Don (Veronica) Thompson, Seattle, WA, and Tom (Alice) Thompson, Bemidji, MN; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Marian was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter; six brothers and one sister. Funeral: Monday, September 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bowbells, ND. Visitation and vigil prayer service: Sunday, (today) September 2, 2007, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bowbells, with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Bowbells, ND. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice in Minot.
