Teckla Kathy "Teddy" Thomas 1916 - 2003

Teckla Kathy "Teddy" Thomas, 86, Everett, WA, formerly of Burlington and Minot, died Wednesday in a Silver Lake nursing home.

She was born July 16, 1916, in Fredonia, ND, on the family farmstead, the daughter of Peter and Agatha Kuntz.

She married John J. Thomas on November 28, 1940 in Solon, ND. They made their home in the Solon area until 1959 when they first moved to Velva and later to Burlington.

Teckla had many skills and worked a variety of jobs. She was a dedicated and hard working employee who touched many lives. She also was a very strong woman, who faced many trials and adversities over her life, but always managed to love and not complain. Family was everything to Teckla. Her husband of 49 years and their children, including three sets of twins where very important to her. Over the years, she also touched the lives of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May God bless the memory of Teckla; mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, all of Minot.

Survivors: sons, John Jr., Richard, Robert, James, Gerald, Donald, Patrick and Kenneth, all of Everett, WA; daughter, Kathy Bailey, Towner; 28 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Schwitzer; brothers-in-law, Dan Thomas, Tacoma, WA, and Jack Thomas, Bismarck; sisters-in-law, Angeline Feist, Bismarck, Deloris Ell, Minot, Barbara Kuntz, Napoleon, ND and Katherine Kuntz, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Peter and Ronald; parents; brothers, Joe, John, Ned, Pius and Pete.

Funeral: Monday, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
