Arlyss M. Thelen • 1928 - 2007 Arlyss was born on April 22, 1928, the daughter of Arthur and Mable (Latendresse) Johnson near Deering, ND. She graduated from Granville High School in 1945. Following her high school graduation, she lived with Martin and Lena Hansen and worked at the Irvin Hotel in Kenmare, ND. On October 23, 1947, she was united in marriage to Vernon Thelen in Granville, ND. After their marriage they lived on the family farm in Elmdale Township, and raised their six children. Arlyss also worked as a cook at the Kenmare School for 25 years. Arlyss was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, the St. Agnes Alter Society and taught CCD. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting and crafting. Arlyss was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Corrine Brekhus, brothers Cleo "Bud" Johnson and Ronald Johnson Visitation: Wednesday, November 21, 2007 from 3-5 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND and 5:30-6:30 at the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare Vigil Prayer Service: Rosary recitation will begin at 6:30 with vigil prayer service at 7 in the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, November 23, 2007 at 10:30 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Burial: St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Kenmare, ND In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Agnes Cemetery Fund.
