Jana F. Tennyson 1943 - 2006 Jana F. Tennyson, 62, 4211 38th St. SE, Minot, died Sunday, January 8, 2006 in her home. Jana was born February 16, 1943 in Westhope, ND, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Schroder) Feland. She was raised on the family farm near Antler and attended Sherman Township School and later Antler High School. While in high school Jana was a cheerleader, she participated in plays, loved to dance and was the astonishing Carnival Queen. On December 9, 1959 she married Warren Tennyson in Mohall. Following their marriage they lived in Canada for five years and then moved to Minot where they since have lived. Jana was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, rural Antler and the Willing Works Church Group. She was active in the Women's Christian Bible Study and also neighborhood bible study. She was active with the Sherman Township homemakers and loved playing pinochle and whist, often playing until the wee hours of the morning. She also played softball for a number of years. Jana loved to travel and was always fond of the week she spent overseas in London with her husband Warren. For several years she helped her friend clean Butler Machinery and volunteered at the food pantry, both in Minot. She loved to take pictures of everyone and even developed her own pictures. She loved spending time at their lake cabin on Lake Metigoshe where she enjoyed fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, and even tried cross country skiing with her friend. She was a cook at Bell School while her children were attending and was the best avid gardener, canner and baker around. She could make popcorn in more ways than you can imagine, even with Karo syrup poured over it. She loved her popcorn and was the best cook known to the northern plains. Jana was the "Greatest Grandma," there wasn't a sporting event or program that she didn't attend. She always made something to eat whenever you stopped in. Everyone was always welcome at her home, and she often delivered special hot dishes, bars or just a surprise. She unselfishly always put others first, a real Christian role model. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We are all so blessed to have had the opportunity to have had such a wonderful, special woman in our lives.
