Orville "O.B." Taylor 1920 - 2010

Orville OB Taylor PhotoOrville “O.B.” Taylor, 89, passed away June 3, 2010, at a Minot medical center of Alzheimer’s disease.

Orville Bernard Taylor was born September 13, 1920 to Orville S. and Bessie Jeannette (Bernard) Taylor in Pipestone, MN.

O.B. was united in marriage to Marguerite Pierson on June 5, 1943.

O.B. graduated from Army Air Corp, bombardier school on December 24, 1943 at the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.  On May 1, 1944 he left for his tour of duty serving his country in World War II in Europe.  O.B. flew numerous missions over Germany, Italy and France as bombardier in a B17 bomber.

Upon his return home he began his career with the Army Corp of Engineers in Hastings, Neb.  He then transferred in December 1948 to Riverdale, ND, with the construction of the Garrison Dam, where he retired in 1980.  He then married Genevieve Pritchett in October 1978.  He moved to Minot, in 1982.

O.B. was preceded in death by his first wife, Marguerite Taylor.

He is survived by his wife Genevieve Taylor; daughters, Sharon (Dan) Pounovich, Barbara Hoffman, Nancy (Chuck) Seebaum; son, Bob (Debbie) Taylor; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step children, David, Dennis and Diane (Glascock) Pritchett; and four step grandchildren.

Funeral: Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 10:00 am at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Visitation: Monday, June 7, 2010 from 2:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial: Tuesday at 1 pm at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Hazen, ND.
