Woodrow Wilson Talley 1913 - 2006

Woodrow W. Talley, 93, Minot, formerly of Glenburn, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 in a Minot nursing home.

Woodrow was born June 25, 1913 in Van Buren Township, Renville County, near Lansford, ND to Joshua W. and Lettie (Shook) Talley. He was reared and attended grade school in Van Buren Township, rural Lansford.

On November 4, 1933, he married Evelyn Maude Johnson in Minot. Following their marriage they first lived and farmed near Hamilton, ND for six years and then moved to the Glenburn area. From 1945 to 1980, they lived and farmed in Margaret Township, Ward County, rural Glenburn. In 1980, they retired and moved to Glenburn. In 1988 they moved to Minot and in 1994 became residents of Trinity Nursing Home.

While living and farming in Margaret Township he served on the township board and was manager of the Wolseth Baseball Team for many years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club, both in Minot. Woodrow enjoyed playing the harmonica.

Woodrow is survived by daughters, Beverly (Doug) Hauge, Minot, Carol E. Ford, Helena, MT and Norene E. Geller, Ocala, FL; son, Norman (Nancy) Talley, South Hill, VA; grandchildren, Michelle (Terry) Geisen, Minot, Sheri (Steve) Factor, Pickerington, OH, Barbara Spokely, Minot, Lisa F. Irion, Seminole, FL, Sharon (Richard) Barthalomoe, Tampa, FL, Penny (Ken) Chinault, South Hill , VA, Chaad (Robin) Talley, South Hill, VA, Tami Talley, Durham, NC, Crystal Washburn, South Hill, VA, Lori (Colin) Lipnicky, Fort Walton Beach, FL, Stephanie (Craig) Angstadt, Boca Raton, FL, and Cynthia Geller, Shell Beach, CA; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Dustin, Jennifer, Kyle, Tiffany, Ian, Alisha, Ethan, Cheyanne, Dakota, Danielle, Matthew, Devin, Amy and Robert; and great-great grandson, Noah; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (Johnson) Talley on November 2, 1996; an infant son; his parents; brothers, William and Joe; sisters, Verbena, Hildred, Florence, Mary, Elsie, and Mildred.

Funeral: Tuesday, January 2, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Glenburn, ND.

Visitation: Saturday, December 30, 2006, from noon to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, January 1, 2007, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Glenburn, ND
