Carole E. Swenson • 1924 - 2005 Carole E. Swenson, 80, Kenmare, ND, died Sunday, January 16, 2005, at an Apache Junction, AZ, Health Center. Carole Emma Smith was born on December 25, 1924, the daughter of Leslie and Minnie Smith in Kenmare, ND. She was raised and educated in Lowland Township, Mountrail County, rural Kenmare. Carole was married to Eskil Swenson on December 31, 1952, in Minot, ND. She had taught school near Kenmare for a couple of years. They made their home on the family farm near Coulee, ND, where they farmed until 1978. Following their retirement, Carole and Eskil built a home in Kenmare. They enjoyed spending their summers at their cabin at Lake Metigoshe and their winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. Carole was a life member of the "Royal" American Legion Auxiliary #64. She will be deeply missed by many family and friends. Surviving family includes: brother: Raymond (Marilyn) Smith of Apache Junction, AZ; sister: Mayme Boughton of Mandan, ND;sister-in-law: Carrie Smith of Minot, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Carole was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, Les Smith, and brother-in-law, Al Boughton. Funeral: Saturday, January 22, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at
