Elizabeth B. Sutter 1922- 2011

Betty Sutter PhotoElizabeth B. Sutter, 88, died peacefully Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in a Bozeman, MT assisted living facility.

Elizabeth was born November 3, 1922 near Max, North Dakota to Matt and Martha (Faydo) Radish. She was raised on farms close to Max, Makoti and Drady communities and attended Burt Consolidated School through 8th grade. She continued her education at Minot Senior High School and graduated in 1942. Elizabeth married Harold Sutter and had one son. Harold died September 15, 1952.

She belonged to the Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose and Parker Senior Center, all in Minot.

Elizabeth was united in marriage to Benjamin Sutter on May 23, 1954 and had one daughter.   Together they enjoyed weekend camping with friends and trips to visit family. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1998.  Betty maintained an active life enjoying Saturday morning breakfast with family and friends, meeting monthly with high school classmates for lunch and playing bingo with friends.  She was fond of working on puzzles, crossword games, and embroidering kitchen towels for family, friends and wedding gifts.  Betty was an avid reader and kept a daily diary for many years.

 Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Matt Jr., Al, George, John and Jack and sister, Marion Frothinger and grandson Shelby Flynn.

Survivors include son Larry (Sandra) Sutter of Belgrade, Montana; daughter Tracy (Peter) Flynn of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Yancy Sutter, Livingston, Montana, Kynan (Karla) Sutter, Belgrade, Montana; Toria and Spencer Flynn of Wichita Falls, Texas; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Austin, Spencer and Bethany of Belgrade, Montana. She is also survived by her brother, Archie (Bonnie) Radish, Vancouver, Washington; sisters-in-law Dolly Radish, Eureka, Montana, Esther Torvik, Monticello, Minnesota and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private memorial service was held at Dahl Funeral Home Chapel in Bozeman, Montana.

Funeral service: Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation:  There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register book Tuesday, March 15, 2011, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial:  A private graveside service will be held prior to the funeral service at Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot.

Elizabeth requested that memorial contributions be made to the Bread of Life Lutheran Church or charity of your choice.
