Donald R. Sullivan 1936 - 2003 Donald R. Sullivan, 66, 1435 10th St. SW, Minot, died Thursday, August 21, 2003 at his residence. Don was born on October 28, 1936, to James and Myrtle Sullivan, near Hillsdale, Kansas and attended Shawnee Mission High School, graduating in 1954. Later that year he enrolled at the Central Christian College in Bartlesville, Okla. He graduated from the Bear Valley School of Preaching in 1969. He then attended the Trinity Theological Seminary, obtaining his master's degree in 1982. He married Lillian Alice Stumbo on January 18, 1957 in Owasa, Oklahoma. He served as minister of the Minot Church of Christ from November 1964 to February 1977 after which time he moved on to Yorba Linda Church of Christ, Yorba Linda, Calif., from 1977 to 1979, and then to the Beaumont Church of Christ, Beaumont, Calif. from 1979 to 1986. He also served as an instructor for the Southern California School of Evangelism in Buena Park, Calif. from 1977 to 1986, later becoming the academic dean from 1988 until 1990. After leaving Beaumont, he moved to Kaiserslautern, West Germany, serving two years primarily with the military families stationed near Kaiserslautern and was also involved in evangelistic endeavors, through an interpreter, in both Germany and Switzerland. He then served at the Central Church of Christ in Shawnee, Okla., where he served as minister and was an integral part in establishing the Shawnee School of Evangelism. He returned to Minot on August 23, 2002 and served as minister of the Minot Church of Christ from then until his death. Survivors: wife, Lillian Sullivan, Minot; sons, Larry (Pam) Sullivan, Chemnitz, Germany, John (Emily) Lemon Grove, Calif, and Michael, Dallas, TX; daughter, Cissy Sullivan, Norman, OK; 10 grandchildren, Kendra, Kristopher, Justin, Ema, Becca, Jessica, Jenna, Emily, Paisley, and Annaly Sullivan. Brother, Larry R. (Nancy) Sullivan, Oak Park, CA. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Myrtle Sullivan, an infant sister, Mary Louise Sullivan.
