Anton Sturn PhotoAnton Sturn, 80, Minot, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 in a Minot hospital.

Anton was born June 13, 1929 in St. Vincent, ND, to Peter and Rose (Miller) Sturn.  He was raised in St. Vincent and later St. Anthony, ND, and attended school in St. Anthony.  While growing up he helped his parents on the farm.

On November 8, 1948, Anton married Perpetua “Peggy” Schmidt at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Odense, ND.  Following their marriage they lived on Anton’s parent’s farm for two years.  They moved to Mandan, Bismarck and Minot, where he worked as a brick layer and helped with the construction of the Minot Air Force Base.  Anton worked as a brick layer for Mattson, Orheim, Burke and Johnson Construction companies over the years until his retirement in 1991.

Anton was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.  He was a also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Bricklayer Union.  He was a former member of Little Flower Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Aerie.

Those who shared in his life, loving wife of over 61 years, Perpetua “Peggy” Sturn, Minot; daughter, Jan (Larry) Horton, Aurora, CO; sisters, Otillia (James) Croteau, Bismarck, ND, Elaine (Richard) Seeberger, Tacoma, WA, and Mary Jane (Duane) Trusty, Laramie, WY; sisters-in-law, Katie Geiger, Mandan, ND and Rose Heinert, Bismarck; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

Anton was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant son.

Funeral:  Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation and vigil service:  Visitation will be Thursday, June 3, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial:  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Minot Catholic Schools
