Elvin M. Striha • 1931 - 2004 Elvin M. Striha, 73, Butte, ND, died Monday, November 8, 2004, at his residence. He was born on March 26, 1931, in the Butte area. He was the son of Mike and Ella (Levchenko) Striha. He was raised and educated there, graduating from Butte High School in 1950. As a youngster, he assisted his family with the daily operations of the farm. Elvin was married to Esther Heinle on March 14, 1956, in Hebron, ND. They made their home on the Striha family farm, located in Dogden Township of McLean County, near Butte, ND. They eventually took over the operation of the farm from his parents and continued to raise small grains and livestock. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. Surviving family includes: wife of 48 years: Esther of Butte;children: Joan Striha of Minot; Randall Striha of Butte; Janet (Paul) Fuchs of Oshkosh, Wisc; Linette Hjelden of Surrey, and Delvin (Desiree) Striha of Turtle Lake;grandchildren: Hunter and Cody; Haley and Hadley; Jakob and Jared;brother: Clarence Striha of Butte; numerous nieces and nephews. Elvin was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Arlene Murrow and Alma Lushenko; brother, Ed Striha. Funeral Service: Friday, November 12, 2004, at 1:00
