Eleanor R. Striha • 1922 - 2004

Eleanor R. Striha, 81, 1921 6th St. SE, Apt. #5, Minot, died Saturday, May 15, 2004, in a Minot hospital.

Eleanor was born on August 23, 1922, in Sheridan County, rural McClusky, ND, to Jacob and Christina (Bratzel) Derheim. She attended Consolidated Country School for her education. She married Reinholdt Bonnet in September of 1938. They lived in Minot and Jamestown. Reinholdt died in 1953. She married Eddie Striha on June 28, 1961, in Minot. They farmed, ranched and raised their family in McHenry County, near Kief and Butte, for over 30 years. They semi-retired from farming in the mid-90's and moved to Minot. Eddie died in 1997. Eleanor continued to live in Minot until the time of her death.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Minot.

Survivors: four children, Michael (Rita) Striha, Kief, ND, Ron (Jan) Bonnet, Combined Locks, WI, Marvin (Judi) Bonnett, West Monroe, LA, and Judy (Leland) Ritterman, Leeds, ND; 12 grandchildren, Blaine Bonnett, Jacqueline Verkuilen, Laura Wittmann, Tanya (David) Pahl, Michelle (Jeff) Lauson, Teri Mathison, Pamela (Jason) Lee, Shelly Ritterman, Stephanie (Patrick) Hockett, Joel (Kristen) Striha, Jon Striha and Jenny Striha; 12 great-grandchildren, Anthony Verkuilen, Amanda Wittmann, Alicia, Stori Lynn and Demi Bonnett, Tyler and Brittany Lauson, Kenadi, Kerington and Kaden Lee, Rudee Hockett and Parker Striha; one sister, Ruth Nelson, Minot; several nieces and nephews also survive. Her two husbands, parents, four brothers, Jake, Fred, David, and Edward, and two sisters, Martha Oxentenko and Katie Heath, preceded her in death.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, May 19, 2004, 1:00 p.m. at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Tuesday, May 18, 2004, from noon to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Burial: Wednesday, May 19, 2004, 4:00 p.m. at Butte Community Cemetery, Butte, ND.
