Grace L. Steinberger 1913 - 2009 Grace Lillian Hamel was born June 10, 1913, the daughter of Frank and Eda (Piquette) Hamel at Mohall, ND. She was raised and educated in Mohall, and graduated from Maxbass High School. Grace married Lawrence V. Steinberger on June 10, 1933, at Kenmare, ND. Together they farmed at the Steinberger home place near Donnybrook, ND. While her children attended school at St Agnes Catholic School, the family resided in Kenmare. In 1962, they retired from farming and moved to rural Minot, ND. In 1997, they moved into Edgewood Vista in Minot. Lawrence passed away August 22, 1999. Following her husband’s death, Grace continued to reside in Minot until December of 2008, when she moved to the Kenmare Community Hospital. She was a member of the following organizations: White Ash Homemakers, Confraternity of Christian Mothers, St. John & Our Lady of Grace Catholic Churches, St Anthony Altar Society, St Agnes Altar Society, St Anthony Choir and St Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Her loving family includes: daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Jerome Munch, Kenmare; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Mary (Scheiber) Steinberger, Union City CA, John and Barbara (Klose) Steinberger, Fullerton, CA, Steven and Ellen (Renshaw) Steinberger, Wheatridge, CO, and Larry and Linda (Hall) Steinberger, Burnsville, MN; 3 granddaughters, Tina Wolverton, Aimee Wheeling, and Kim Steinberger, 10 grandsons, Paul Munch, Dennis Munch, Dave Munch, Patrick Steinberger, Alan Steinberger, David Steinberger, Gary Steinberger, Michael Steinberger, Robert Steinberger and Kyle Steinberger; great grandchildren, Kiley Munch, Alyson Munch, Courtney Munch, Colin Munch, Sidney Wheeling, Jordan Wheeling, Austin Noguera, Trevor Noguera, Travis Steinberger and Logan Steinberger. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence V. Steinberger; two granddaughters, Laurie and Mary Jo Munch; sisters, Gladys Grady, Frances O’Fallon Ramsdell and Betty Welch; and brothers, George, Louie, and Raymond. Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare. Memorials: In lieu of flowers can be donated to any of the following organizations: Bishop Ryan High School, MaryKnoll Fathers or charity of choice.
