Dennis J. Steinberger • 1943- 2010 Dennis was born February 17, 1943 in Minot, ND to Leonard and Marie (Gregoire) Steinberger. He was raised in Donnybrook and graduated from Donnybrook High School in 1961. He attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, where he earned a degree in plumbing and pipefitting. On February 8, 1964, Dennis married Karen Bock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Foxholm. They made their home in Burlington where they raised their three children, Todd, Traci and Thadius. In 1963, Dennis went to work for Hap’s Plumbing and Heating in Minot, and worked there until his retirement in 2003. Dennis was a life-long member of the plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #300. Dennis was always there for his children and helped them with many home renovations on the East and West Coast and places in between. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Dennis enjoyed spending time in his back yard, where he loved to deer hunt with family and friends. His favorite spot was his workshop, which over the years became a gathering place for friends and family, either to check out the new project he was working on, or just hang out and tell stories. The door was always open. He was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. Those who shared in his life, loving wife of 45 years, Karen, Burlington; children, Todd Steinberger, Manassas, VA, Traci (Steve) Fontaine, Spokane, WA, and Thadius (Mandy) Steinberger, Wahpeton, ND, and his children, Thadius and Theodore Steinberger; brothers, Harvey (Karen) Steinberger, Donnybrook, ND and Joe (Marie) Steinberger, Seattle, WA; sisters, Mary Wrolstad, Fessenden, ND and Gayle (Marvin) Brekhus, Webster, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Marie, and a brother-in-law, Darrell Wrolstead. Funeral: Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the guest register Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm, ND. Dennis J. Steinberger, 67, Burlington, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in a Minot hospital with his family by his side, after a short battle with cancer.
