Herman St. Aubin 1911 - 2007 Herman was born on the family farmstead on September 30, 1911, in Ree Township, Ward County, near Donnybrook, ND the son of Felix and Eveline (Peltier) St. Aubin. Herman was educated in a small country schoolhouse near the farm and later in Hartland, ND. He married Bertha Kolloen on September 19, 1936, in Minot, ND. The couple moved to the St. Aubin homestead where they farmed until retiring in 1975. In the 1960's Herman also worked as a welder on the missile silos. Herman and Bertha were married for 62 years until Bertha died in 1999. Herman moved from the farm to Brentmoor Assisted Living at the age of 94 and most recently resided at Manorcare Health Service where he passed away peacefully in his sleep. Herman served on the Ree Township Board for many years and served 62 years on the Ward County Election Board. Survivors: daughter, Mary Lou St. Aubin, Kalispell, MT; son, Robert St. Aubin, Creston, British Columbia; two grandchildren, Steve St. Aubin and Raymond St. Aubin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, parents and two brothers, George and Adler St. Aubin. Funeral Service: Saturday, July 7, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio, ND Visitation: Friday, July 6, 2007, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot with prayers offered at 6:30 p.m. Burial: Hartland Cemetery, Carpio.
