Julius Soren Staael • 1911 - 2004 Julius Soren Staael, 92, Stanley, died Friday, June 11, 2004, in the Kenmare hospital. Julius was born October 6, 1911, on the family farm in Sauk Prairie Township, Ward County, ND, to Anton and Anna (Thompson) Staael. He was raised on the family farm and attended area schools. Julius worked on the family farm. In 1932 he moved to Kandiyohi Township in Burke County, southwest of Kenmare, where he continued to farm. He married Addal M. Christensen on October 24, 1939, at Stanley, ND. They engaged in farming in Kandiyohi Township, Burke County, all their married life. Survivors: Wife, Addal, Stanley; children, Evelyn (Jacob) Seel, Billings, MT, Gaylan (Jane) Staael, Bismarck, ND, and Jerol Staael, Stanley, ND; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one stepgrandchild and one stepgreat-grandchild; sister, Mathilda Smith, Oshkosh, WI; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Julius was preceded in death by his daughter, Mardell Mandan, on March 22, 1991; his parents, Anton and Anna Staael, and numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral: Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND. Visitation: Tuesday, June 15, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. to service time at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND. Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND.
