Irene C. Sollid 1916 - 2009 Irene was born June 13, 1916, near Simcoe, ND, to Ole and Louise (Nyborg) Ringsaker. She was raised and attended country school in that area, and later attended Velva High School. In May of 1941, Irene married Hans Sollid. They lived on the farm near Simcoe, until 1947, when they moved to Velva. Hans died August 21, 1970. Irene was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, the church circle and the quilting group, all in Velva. She was a member of the Velva Senior Citizens, the Velva Farmers Union and a life-member of the Velva American Legion Auxiliary. Those who shared in her life, son, Norman (Lorrie) Sollid, Granville; stepsons, Hilton (Caroline) Sollid, and Harding Sollid, all of Minot; grandchildren, Lance Sollid, Mounds View, MN, Kassandra Sollid, Velva, ND and Sydney Sollid, a student at NDSU in Fargo; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Hans Sollid; stepsons, Elmo and Leland Sollid; parents, Ole and Louise Ringsaker; sisters , Lily Gravning, Inga Oakland and Luella Moxness; brothers, Oscar, Theodore, Martin and Nels Ringsaker. Funeral: Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, ND. Visitation: Monday, one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial: Monday at 1:15 p.m. at Stenkjaer Lutheran Cemetery, Simcoe, ND. Officiating Clergy: Pastor Tim Johnson Music:

We will be leaving the church around 1:00 p.m. in procession. Those wishing to attend the graveside service may follow in procession, with both headlights and hazard lights on.
