Marjorie "Margie"
Smith 1921 - 2008 Marjorie Vivian Flesvig was born September 3, 1921, a daughter of Martin and Josephine (Spera) Flesvig in Superior, Wisconsin. She was raised and educated in Superior and graduated from Superior Central High School. She then attended Superior Vocational School and worked with the Boy Scouts of America. On September 15, 1942, Margie married Keenan H. Smith in Paterson, NJ. While her husband was serving in the US Army during WWII, she worked for the US Maritime Commission in Superior and for the Office of Price Administration in Duluth, MN. Following Keenan's discharge from the Army in 1947, the couple moved to Minot. She had worked in the office at Ellison's Department Store from 1948 to 1963. Keenan passed away August 13, 2002. She had continued to reside in Minot since. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a former member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, both of Minot. She was also a member of the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Margie loved traveling and fishing with her husband and family. She also enjoyed baking. Her loving family includes: sons, Paul Keenan (Tori) Smith, Brownsville, OR, Thomas Martin (Theresa) Smith, Port Orchard, WA, and John Farrell (Lola) Smith, Grove City, OH, daughters, Catharine Jo (Donald) Windmueller, and Mary Clare Smith, all of Minot; nine grandchildren, Bryan (Marnie) Smith, Keenan Otis Smith, Steven (Kristina) Windmueller, Clare Marie (Obed) Rodriguez, Matthew Windmueller, Zachary Smith, Mara Smith, Hannah Smith, and Amelia Green; six great-grandchildren, Keenan Windmueller, Elizabeth Jacobson, Morgan Windmueller, Rebecca Jacobson, Katarina Smith and Isabelle Smith; sister, Beverly Van Overmeiren, Superior, WI, and three nieces, and three nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keenan; and brother, Harley. Funeral: Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at
