Evelyn J. Smith 1937- 2006

Evelyn J. Smith, 68, Minot, died Monday, September 4, 2006 in a Minot Hospital.

Evelyn Perzinski was born on December 17, 1937, the daughter of Joe and Pauline (Paluck) Perzinski in Belfield, ND. She was reared on a farm with her ten brothers and sisters in South Heart, ND. She attended the South Heart School.

On December 30, 1985, Evelyn started to work for Trinity Homes in the Housekeeping department. She worked for over twenty years, making friends with many of the residents and employees. She was also a longtime Minot resident, living in Minot for over 40 years. She was employed at Trinity Homes at the time of her death.

Evelyn was a loving mother and grandmother. She was always willing to do anything for her family. She loved to cook and was very well known for her lefse.

Mom had worked very hard all of her life, and always took pride in her work. She started working on the farm when she was young, and had the same determination and pride in everything she did. She was never afraid to tackle any job, and would do it to the best of her ability. Her greatest achievement wasn't her work. In 1969, after the birth of her son, she became the world's best mother. Every effort from then on was for her to raise her son, and to be the best mom that anyone could ever dream to have. She succeeded. Her family will miss her greatly, and her presence will be felt everyday in everything we do.

Evelyn is survived by: Son: Gene (Tammy) Smith, Fergus Falls, MN: grandchildren: Ashley and Cody Smith, Fergus Falls, MN; brothers: Mike Perzinski, Tioga, ND, Robert Perzinski, Kalispell, MT, Joe Perzinski, Portland, OR; sisters: Louise Stephens, Carmi, IL, Georgianne Warne, Cambridge, OH, Carol Reiger, Post Falls, ID, Charlene Bronson, Raleigh, NC, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, brother Roger, sisters Margie and Daphne.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign a register book on Thursday, September 7, 2006 from noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorial Service: Friday, September 8, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot, ND.

Burial: A private family burial will take place at a later time.
