Donna Mae Smith 1941 - 2002 Donna Mae Smith, 60, 2400 27th St. SE, Minot, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in a Minot hospital. Donna was born November 29, 1941, in Harvey, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Esther Kelm. She was raised and educated in Harvey. In June of 1967 she married Gary Smith of Minot. The couple made their home in Minot. Donna was employed at St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey. She later worked at Americana Nursing Home, Sunny Side Rest Home and retired from Dakota Inn, all in Minot. Donna loved the outdoors especially spring in North Dakota. She loved to plant flowers and work in the garden. She loved to go for a Sunday drive out to the farm to see the newborn calves. She enjoyed collecting bears that she often found at the local flea markets with family and friends. Donna was a very good cook and enjoyed everything involved in preparing a meal. She enjoyed shopping at the farmers markets for the best produce she could buy. When she was not in her kitchen preparing a meal she could be found browsing a cook book for a new recipe for tomorrow's dinner. Survivors: Husband, Gary, Minot; sister, Shirley Abel, Minot; brother, Roger Kelm of Michigan; niece, Terry Ann (Don) Johnson; nephews, Brad (Andrea) Abel, and Roger Kelm; great nephew, Shane Johnson. Funeral: Friday, June 7, 2002, at 10:30 a.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Visitation: Thursday, from noon to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.
