Agnetta Slind 1923 - 2005
Agnetta was born on October 6, 1923, on the family farm, which was located in McAlmond Township of Mountrail County, rural Blaisdell, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Christ and Anna (Grotte) Mahlum. She was raised and educated in the Blaisdell area. As a young adult, she assisted her parents on the family farm, and occasionally helped her neighbors. Agnetta was baptized and confirmed at Shell Creek Lutheran Church, rural Blaisdell, ND. Agnetta married Edwin A. Slind on April 10, 1944, at the parsonage in Makoti, ND. They lived and farmed near Roseglen for over 50 years, until they moved to Minot in 1992. She was a member of Roseglen Immanuel Bethlehem Lutheran Church (Bethlehem) and its ladies aide, rural Ryder, ND. When summer vacation came, Agnetta looked forward to her grandson, Brian, coming to stay for a month on the farm. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and unique rocks from her farmland. She thoroughly enjoyed flower gardening. She was extremely pleased with her new home in Minot and the wonderful neighbors and new friends. Surviving family includes: husband of 60 years: Ed of Minot;
daughter: Helen Bittenbinder of Dallas, TX; grandson: Brian Bittenbinder
of Dallas, TX; brother: Ellsworth (Verlene) Mahlum of Stanley; Agnetta was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arnim, Clarence, and Anton Mahlum; sisters, Ethel Johnson and Myrtle Kabanuk; and a nephew, Melvin Johnson. Funeral: Saturday, April 2, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at
