Harold H. Slauter 1922 - 2005

Harold H. Slauter, 82, Minot, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, in a Minot hospital.

Harold was born November 7, 1922 in Berthold, ND, to Harry and Myrtle (Lautenschlager) Slauter. He attended school in Minot.

He joined the United States Navy in August of 1942 and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in March of 1946 and returned to North Dakota.

In June of 1949 Harold married Rose Ann Schwan in Minot. They made their home in Minot until 1960, when they moved to Des Lacs. They moved back to Minot in 1979. Harold worked for Voeller's Furniture, Custom Floors and Sebby's Carpet area, until he retired in 1983. They made their home in northeast Minot since 1984.

Harold loved fishing, woodworking, gardening and being with family. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the American Legion, both in Minot.

He is survived by, His loving wife of 55 years, Rose Ann Slauter, Minot; sons, Haloran (Mary) Slauter, Jefferson City, MO, and Terry Slauter of Battle Mountain, NV; daughters, Marcia (Don) Jessen, Minot, and Ronda (Don) Baumiller, Bismarck; one special sister, Esther Geyer, Auburn, WA; grandchildren, Hal, Jr. (Christina), Hiedi (Tom), Doni, Brandi (Joe), Bridget (Patrick), Kelsey, Kinley, Karley, Justin, and one special granddaughter, Sirena Dee; great-grandchildren, Julie, Madison, Brendan, Emily, Isaiah, Alexis, Tanner, Sydney Rose, Benjamin Harold, and Jack; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Myrtle Slauter; brother, Earl "Bud", Russell and Omer Slauter; sisters, Verna Johnson, Lorraine Peerboom and Edna Hennessy.

Funeral: Thursday, April 21, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register Thursday one hour prior to the service in the church.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
