Judy Kay Slater 1951 - 2011 Judy Kay Kittleson was born October 2, 1951, a daughter of Milan and Bertha (Peterson) Kittleson in Bottineau, ND. She was raised on the family farm near Bottineau and attended school in Bottineau. She graduated from Bottineau High School in 1969. Judy was once married to Harvey Nerpel. From this union, a daughter, Tracey was born. She worked in the kitchen at San Haven Sanatorium north of Dunseith, ND, for a few years. Judy was a motherly figure for her nieces and nephews. They were all very special to her, as they were always around her. In the fall of 1986, she decided to further her education at North Dakota State University – Bottineau, now known as Dakota College. She worked hard to put herself through college, and graduated with a degree in Medical Technology in 1988, the same year her daughter graduated from high school. She began her medical technology career at the Turtle Lake Hospital, where she worked for one year before accepting the position of Lab Manager at the Beulah Clinic. In 1991, she went to work at the Heart & Lung Clinic in Mandan and worked there until 1993. Judy married John M. Slater July 31, 1993, at the Lake Metigoshe Christian Center. They made their home in Minot, where she worked at the Centennial Medical Center for a time, then for Dr. Pearson’s office at the Trinity Professional Building. She also worked at Uni-Med Hospital, which eventually became Trinity Hospital, where she worked for several years before retiring in 2001. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Auxiliary, the Minot Quilting Guild, and the Christian Women’s Club of Minot. Judy was an angel. She was a caring and loving wife, daughter, mother, granddaughter, and aunt. She would do anything for her family, especially her mother. She always helped others, stranger or not, and always had time for anyone. She always gave of herself, but never expected to receive anything in return. She wanted people to take care of themselves, so that they could enjoy life. She loved entertaining for family gatherings, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening, cleaning, fishing, and ice fishing. Her loving family includes: husband, John, Minot; daughter, Tracey (Maynard) Hall, Willow City, ND; son, Matthew (Melissa) Slater, Grand Forks, ND;
