Bernice Sigl • 1919- 2006
Bernice (Nostdahl) Sigl, 86, Minot, ND, formerly of Dickinson
and Bottineau, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2006, in a
Minot nursing home from complications of pneumonia.
Bernice Antoinette Nostdahl was born on December 2, 1919, the
daughter of William and Ethel (Nelson) Nostdahl in Bottineau
County, rural Bottineau, ND. She was raised and educated in Bottineau
and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1938.
Bernice was married to Peter Joseph Sigl on August 21, 1939,
in a courthouse ceremony in Bottineau, ND. They made their home
in Dickinson, ND, where she was employed by King's Super Value
as a bookkeeper and cashier. She worked there 35 years. In the
spring of 1979, they retired and moved to Ronan, MT, for five
years. They moved to Albany, OR, in 1983. Peter passed away on
September 12, 1985. Bernice returned to North Dakota in July
of 1999, and made her home in Minot.
She was a former member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dickinson,
ND.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and her flowers. She loved spending
time with her relatives and family. She especially enjoyed her
grandchildren.
Surviving family includes: sons, Dennis (Kathy) Sigl,
Morrison, CO, Brad Sigl, Bothell, WA, and Kurt (Gunay) Sigl,
Everett, WA; daughters, Myrna Sigl, Minot, ND, Glennis Price,
Elk Grove, CA, Bobbi (Vic) Van Dyke, Phoenix, AZ, Debbie (Mark)
Gengler, Albany, OR, Rebecca Berkey, Albany, OR, Roberta (Robert)
Henderson, Albany, OR, and Stephanie (David) King, Kenmare, ND;
18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, sisters, Janice (Mitz)
Rothe, Bottineau, ND, and Lila (Bernie) Wilson, Apache Junction,
AZ; brothers, Ward (Marge) Nostdahl, Minot, ND, Harlan Nostdahl,
Bottineau, ND, and Donald Nostdahl, Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter;
son, Timothy; grandson, Brian Price; sisters, Alice Taft, and
Waiva Bergeron; brothers, Alton and Bruce Nostdahl.
Funeral: Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at
Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: Willamette Memorial Park, Albany, OR
Visitation: Tuesday, September 5, 2006 from noon to 6
p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Rosary/Vigil Prayer Service: Tuesday, September 5, 2006
at 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
