Maxine Mary Siemers 1924 - 2004

Maxine Mary Siemers PhotoMaxine Mary Siemers, 80, Bowbells, died Monday, February 23, 2004, in the Good Samaritan Center in Mohall, ND.

Maxine was born February 21, 1924, in Bowbells, ND, the second of three daughters born to John and Lillian (Peterson) Gorman. She was raised and educated in Bowbells and graduated from Bowbells High School in 1941.

She worked in Minneapolis for a time before her marriage to Ray C. Siemers on June 10, 1944, in South Carolina. Ray was discharged form the service in 1946, and the couple moved to Columbus where they lived until moving to Bowbells in1956.

Maxine loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her family and her faith were very important to her. She loved to bake, sew, play cards and she spent many hours reading books. Since 1977, she and Ray had spent their winters in Mesa, AZ, until Maxine entered the North Central Good Samaritan Center in Mohall in June of 2000.

Ray died on June 29, 2003.

Maxine was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bowbells and St. Joseph's Altar Society and was also a member of the Bowbells American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors: Children, Judith (Dean) Koppelman, Dickinson, Jeffrey (Janis) Siemers, Lakeville, MN, and Nancy (Jim) Rice, Bowbells; six grandchildren, Eric and Taryn Koppelman, Jackie and Dustin Siemers, Kelli and Jay Rice; sisters, Polly (Don) Reinarts, Minot; brother-in-law, Milton Aisenbrey, Newburg, ND and several nieces and nephews survive. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Siemers; her parents and sister, Lois Aisenbrey.

Funeral: Saturday, February 28, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bowbells, ND.

Visitation: Friday, February 27, 2004, from 5 p.m. until 7 :30 p.m. at the church and Saturday, February 28, 2004 one hour prior to the service.

Rosary Recitation and Prayer Service: Friday, February 27, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at the church.

Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Bowbells, ND, in the spring
