Charles H. "Chuck"
Shepard • 1938 - 2008 Charles Herbert Shepard was born February 17, 1938 in Elgin, TN, the son of Frank H. and Bessie M. (Fairchild) Shepard. He moved with his family at the age of 2 ½ to Pontiac, MI, where he was raised and graduated from high school. Charles entered the United States Air Force until he retired at the Minot Air Force Base in 1978, serving 23 years in the military and was honorably discharged. He served at several Air Bases, including Hahn Air Force Base in Germany, before coming to Minot. In 1964 Charles married his beloved wife, Ruth A. "Ruthie" in Michigan. Following retirement from the Air Force, Charles and Ruth made their home in Minot. He worked for ASK Inc., Xerox and Gaffney's before retiring. Charles loved his dear wife, Ruth. On January 25, 2009, he would have married to Ruth for 45 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his roses in the backyard, he enjoyed grilling and loved his dogs. He was a wonderful man who will be deeply missed. Those who shared in his life, loving wife, Ruth, Minot; daughter, Teresa Ann Stephens of Florida; three grandchildren, Brian and Brittany Martin and Dustin Stephens; brother, Phillip Shepard and sister, JoAnn Shepard, both of Michigan. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, sister; grandparents and great-grandparents. Memorial Service: Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot, ND. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends
