Charles W. Sheelar 1927 - 2003 Charles W. Sheelar, 76, Ruso, ND, died September 18, 2003, in a Minot Hospital. Charles was born April 8, 1927, on a farm just west of Strawberry Lake, south of Ruso, to Charles A. and Ellen (Paul) Sheelar. He was raised and educated near Ruso. Charles married Clarice Miller on August 3, 1949, in Towner, ND. They lived, farmed and ranched in the Ruso area his entire life. They had seven children. He also drove school bus for many years. Charles served on the Otis township board in Mclean County and was chairman of the board at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Clarice Sheelar, Ruso; seven children, Cheryl (Harold) Lovro, Norwich, ND, Calvin Sheelar, Ruso, Cathleen (Rick) Schnell, Minot, Curtis (Ramona) Sheelar, Bismarck, ND, Colleen (Neal) Dimmer, Fingal, ND, CoAnn (Mike) Grady, Pocatello, ID, and Candace (Kirby) Kassenborg, Moorhead, MN; nine grandchildren, Wayne (Rhonda) Lovro, Allen (Amanda) Lovro, Michael (Corissa) Schnell, Jessica and Amanda Dimmer, Kelsi and Bo Sheelar, and Ashley and Amber Kassenborg; three great grandsons, Kenny, Jared and Scott Lovro; sister, Charlotte Madsen, Max, ND; sister-in-law, Gena Sheelar, Ruso; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Henry, and sister, Viola White. Funeral: Monday, September 22, 2003, at 2:00 pm at Concordia Lutheran Church, Benedict. Visitation: Sunday, September 21, 2003 from noon until 4:00 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva. Burial: Ruso Cemetery Officiant: Rev.
