Rhonda J. Sevland • 1954- 2009

Rhonda J. Sevland, 55, Granville, ND died Thursday, August 13, 2009 of heart complications at St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, ND.

Rhonda Jean Bluhm was born on February 22, 1954 to Fred and Anna (Ness) Bluhm in Minot, ND. She lived in Ryder, ND until she was 2 years old, when she moved with her family to Douglas, ND where she attended grade school and middle school. She attended 2 years of high school in Garrison, ND. In 1970, Rhonda and her family made their permanent family home on a farmstead in Granville, ND where she graduated in 1972.

Following graduation, Rhonda helped farm and ranch southeast of Granville where she made a home for her four beautiful children. During that time she worked for Minot Livestock for 12 years and later worked for Soaring Eagle and baked for the Granville grocery store. In 1991, Rhonda continued to raise her children living on the Bluhm family farmstead in Granville.

Rhonda was an excellent artist! She enjoyed drawing, painting wall murals and other pictures. She loved to garden and she had a natural "green thumb." Rhonda had a great appreciation and love for life and all things living. She was often referred to as the "local veterinarian." Her children, grandchildren and friends were the very center of her life. Rhonda always had time to lend a hand to anyone or any animal in need.

Rhonda was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Granville. She also was a leader for the Kountry Kids 4-H club for many years.

Rhonda was very happy living on her family's farm and loved being a part of the Granville community. She will be missed dearly.

Those who shared in her life: Children: Jeanie (Jerry) Steen, Bismarck, ND, Jon (Heather) Sevland, Hankinson, ND, Jerry (Chasity) Sevland, Granville, ND, Jeff Sevland, Granville, ND; six grandchildren Jasper Steen, Dazey, Hennie and Rovina Sevland, Taylor and Hunter Sevland; sister: Marlys (LuVern) McLain, Minot, ND; brothers: Kenny Ness, Max, ND, Richard (Marie) Bluhm, Granville, ND; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rhonda was preceded in death by both of her parents, sister Carol and her husband Bob Christenson, brother Dale Bluhm and nephew Aaron Bluhm.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, however people may sign a register book on Tuesday one hour prior to service in the church.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 10:30 am at First Lutheran Church, Granville, ND

Burial: A private family burial will take place at a later time.

Immediately following the memorial service, everyone is invited to join the family in the lower level of the church for lunch and fellowship.

The Sevland family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. May God bless the memory of Rhonda.
