Marie Josephine Seime 1918 - 2002

Marie Josephine Seime, 83, Kenmare, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, in her home.

Marie was born August 19, 1918, in Tensed, Idaho, the daughter of William and Mabel (Peterson) Hendrickx. She was educated at the Mission School in DeSmet, Idaho.

On September 10, 1938, she married Henry Seime in DeSmet, Idaho. The couple moved to North Dakota in 1941, and since had resided in the Kenmare area, except for the period from 1948 to 1950, when they lived in Spokane, WA. Marie was the last telephone operator at the Norma Exchange.

Marie was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare, and the St. Joseph's Circle of the church. She was very active in the Kenmare Senior Citizens, and was a member of the Kenmare Hospital Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Village Homemakers, all in Kenmare.

Survivors: Husband, Henry, Kenmare; daughters, Janice (Ralph) Melin, Kenmare, Alice Lizotte, Minot, JoAnne (Norlen) Nelson, Minot, and Marlene (John) Melin, Kenmare; son, John (Marcia) Seime, Bowbells; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Seeman, Spokane, WA, Rose Johnson, Coeur D'Alene, ID, and Elizabeth Taylor, Seattle, WA; brother, Eddy Hendrickx, Spokane, WA; special family friends, Grace Naas and families; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mabel Hendrickx; sister, Gertrude Franzoi; brothers, Bill, Leonard, Francis, Louis, Joe, Johnny, and Henry Hendrickx.

Funeral: Thursday, July 25, 2002 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare, ND.

Visitation and Vigil Prayer Service: Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the vigil prayer service Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at the church. There will be no reviewal Thursday prior to the service at the church.

Burial: Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Coulee, ND
