Lucille B. Sebby 1908 - 2005 Lucille B. Sebby, 97, Minot, died Friday, April 22, 2005, in a Minot nursing home. Lucille was born March 3, 1908, in Barney, ND, to Francis and Beva (Stevens) Staudacher. She was raised and educated in Perham, MN. She attended business college in Fargo, ND, and worked at the Cass County Courthouse. Lucille married Carl M. Sebby in 1935 in Crookston, MN. They lived in Fargo and in 1946 moved to Minot, where they raised their family and where he opened Sebby's Linoleum and Tile, first operating the business out of their home at 306 2nd St. SE. In 1955 the company moved to its present headquarters at 1839 South Broadway. Carl died on October 25, 1989. Lucille was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, and a former member of St. Leo's and Little Flower Catholic Churches, both in Minot. Lucille and Carl held life memberships in the Family Motor Coach Association, and together for many years they traveled the United States, Canada and Mexico in their motor home. In their later years they spent winters in Arizona. Lucille was known by many for her love of elephants as exhibited by her large collection. She was always available to help at church functions and for many years was a band mother for the St. Leo's school band. She helped make several band uniforms for her daughters and other members of the band. Survivors: Daughters, Ione (Edward) Wiedeman, Minot, Judy Sebby, and Mary Connors, both of Indianapolis, IN; son, Jan (Barb) Sebby, Red Wing, MN; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Sahli, St. Paul, MN, and Marjorie Scheidecker, Fergus Falls, MN; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Carl; son-in-law, Charles Connors; great-grandson, Aaron Swanson; her parents, one brother and one sister. Funeral: Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: Tuesday, April 26, from noon to 7:00 p.m., with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.
