I. Helen Scott 1923 - 2009 Helen Iverson was born April 2, 1923, a daughter of Gotfred and Amanda Otilia (Hammer) Iverson, in Velva, ND. She was raised and educated in Velva and graduated from Velva Agricultural High School. She later attended Minot Business College. Helen married Robert G. Scott April 7, 1946, in Velva, ND. They made their home in Velva for a time, before moving to Minot. Helen worked for Truax-Traer Mine Office as a bookkeeper from 1941 to 1946, then at Farmers Union Co-Op, later known as Cenex, as a bookkeeper from 1956 to 1978, and for Brotherhood of Railway Carmen as a secretary from 1980 to 1988. Robert passed away August 10, 1995. Following her husband's death, she continued to reside in Minot until she moved to the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva in April of 2007. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and Sons of Norway. She was an excellent seamstress, cook, and enjoyed crocheting, going to garage sales, and an occasional trip to the casinos. Her loving family includes: daughter, Karen Howe, Saginaw, MI; son, Richard Scott and his wife, Katherine, Simi Valley, CA; daughter-in-law, Joan Scott-Howes, Bismarck; grandchildren, Robert (Liz) Howe, Kenneth (Holly) Howe, and Lori (Alan) Evans; Erik (Annette) Scott, Brett (Jaime) Scott, and Callista Scott; Chris Scott and his fiancee', Billie, Chelsey (Pete) Riepl; great-grandchildren, Rishelle, Breanna, Spencer Howe, Collin and Corey Evans, Alexis and Robert Scott, Alyssa Scott, Jayden Scott, and Kaylee Riepl; special nephews, Ronnie Iverson and Dennis Ell; and numerous nieces, and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son, Robert, Jr; brothers, Harold, Allan, Norman, George, Ralph, and Fritz Iverson. Funeral: Monday, April 13, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Zion
