Myrtle M. Schwede 1919 - 2006 Myrtle M. Schwede, 87, Minot, ND, formerly of Donnybrook, ND, died Sunday, December 3, 2006 in a Minot nursing home. Myrtle was born April 29, 1919 on the family farm, Donnybrook, ND, the daughter of Leopold and Alma (Bruhn) Charnetzki. She was reared and educated in the Donnybrook area, attending country schools. On October 8, 1940, she was united in marriage to Fritz W. Schwede in Wolf Point, MT. Following their marriage, they traveled to various places, as Fritz was serving in the military. In 1947, they took over the operations of the Schwede Family farm, located in Ree Township, Ward County. Together, they enjoyed fishing. Fritz and Myrtle semi-retired in the early 1980's. In August of 1994, they moved to Minot. Fritz died on May 12, 1997. Following his death she continued to live in Minot. Myrtle enjoyed crafting of all kinds, and attended many local craft shows. She continued to make crafts up until this year, when ill health forced her to retire. She also enjoyed baking and decorating wedding cakes. She had a beautiful bell collection, which contained 100 different bells. She was a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, and Aurelia Moravian Church, where she was active in the ladies aid, until they both closed. She was a member of the homemakers club and was active as a 4-H leader, all in Donnybrook. She is survived by: Children: Fay (Gary) Knudtson, Donnybrook; Sharon (Joe) Crider, Donnybrook; David (Deb) Schwede, Minot; four grandchildren: Sara ( Tyler) Mitchell, Erin (Fiancee, Troy Petersen) Knudtson, Melissa (Dennis) Flom, Michael (Donita) Crider, seven great-grandchildren, Sheridan Mitchell, Jalen Mitchell, Tanner Peterson, Matthew Flom, Dessa Flom, Clinton Crider, Coleen Crider, one brother, Arvid (Connie) Charnetzki, Kenmare, ND: one sister, Ida Johnson, Minot; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Agnes, Martha, Paul, Claudie, Clarence, Margaret, Lillian and an infant brother. Visitation: Wednesday, December 6, 2006 from noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Funeral Service: Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio, ND Burial: Thursday at 3:30 at Aurelia Cemetery, Donnybrook, ND Officiant: Rev.
