Laurine Kitzman Schulz 1924 - 2006

Laurine Kitzman Schulz, 82, Minot, ND, formerly of the Willow City and Upham areas, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2006, in a Minot nursing home.

Laurine Edith Klebe was born on June 6, 1924, the daughter of Reinhold and Mathilda (Burmeister) Klebe on the family farm near Willow City, ND. She was raised in the Willow City area and attended the Willow Creek Township School. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Willow Creek Township, ND. She attained her high school diploma by taking correspondence classes. She then attended Minot State Teachers College and received her Teaching Certificate in 1944.

Laurine was united in marriage to William "Bill" Brandt on November 2, 1946, in Minot. They made their home on a farm in Willow Creek Township. Bill passed away in May of 1961.

Laurine began her teaching career in 1944, at Bottineau County School. In 1959, she taught in Upham, and in 1975, she and her family moved to Minot, where she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital as a ward clerk. She retired in 1988.

She was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Willow Creek Township. She was currently a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot, where she was very active in the Mary Circle and the Life Light Bible Study group. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, and was a Norsk Hostfest volunteer.

She enjoyed crocheting and volunteering, as she volunteered many hours at Trinity Homes and at ManorCare Health Services, both Minot. She also enjoyed mall walking in the Town and Country Mall and Dakota Square Mall.

Her loving family includes: sons, Keith (Becky) Brandt, Enderlin, ND, Kraig (Beth) Brandt, Minot, and Kevin Brandt, and his fiancee, GG Hernandez, Upham, ND; son-in-law, Bill Drozdalski, Suttons Bay, MI; grandchildren, Steph Drozdalski; William and Ted Brandt; Alyssa, Myles and Evan Brandt; Jacob Brandt and Kirsten Hernandez; sisters, Doris Miller, Minot, and Florence (Don) Smette, Upham, ND; brother, Ronald (Norma) Klebe, Willow City, ND;
and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laurine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; daughter, Karen Drozdalski; and brothers, Robert and Wilbert Klebe.

Funeral: Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment: Wednesday at 4 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Willow Creek Township, ND.

Visitation: Tuesday from Noon to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
