Renee Schroeder-Lindsey, 52, Minot, ND, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, in a Minot hospital.

Renee Edith Schroeder was born November 15, 1956, a daughter of Ewald and Bernice (Sundquist) Schroeder, in Bismarck, ND. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Bernice and Gordon Johnson and attended school in Wilton, ND, and later in Bismarck. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1974. She had worked various jobs in Bismarck. She later took some college courses in Bottineau, ND.

Renee was once married to Leonard Lindsey. They had made their home in Minneapolis, MN, where she had worked as a dental assistant and later as a claims adjustor for Mutual of Omaha. In 1992, Renee and her daughter, Brooke, moved back to North Dakota to be closer to their family. They lived on a farm near Bottineau for a few years before moving to Minot in 1997.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, music, cooking. She was an artist, who loved to paint, and loved animals, horseback riding, and riding her motorcycle.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Brooke Schroeder, Minot; mother and step-father, Bernice and Gordon Johnson, Minot; father, Ewald Schroeder, California; significant other, Lonny Thorson, Upham, ND; and niece, Brooke.

Renee was preceded in death by her brother, Kent Schroeder; maternal grandparents, Henry and Edith Sundquist; paternal grandparents, John and Eleanor Schroeder; and several aunts and uncles.

Memorial Service: Monday, May 4, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal but friends may sign the register book on Monday from 10 am to the service time at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
