Elizabeth Schmidt 1924 - 2011 Elizabeth Suchor was born June 17, 1924 in Bantry, ND to George and Helen (Todd) Suchor. She grew up in the Denbigh and Bantry areas. She attended school through the third grade in Bantry and then attended school in Denbigh through the eighth grade. Elizabeth worked at John Burckhardmeier’s Café in Towner for two years before moving to Minot. While in Minot she worked at George’s Café for two years and then started a career in the Dietary Department at Trinity Hospital where she worked for 35 years until her retirement in June of 1985. On September 3, 1974 she married Chester Schmidt in Minot. She worked with her husband in their stained glass shop in Minot until she became ill. She had great talent in stain glass work and loved to cook and bake. She loved her sisters and brothers and many nieces and nephews. Her husband passed away April 26, 2010. Elizabeth was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. Those who shared in her life, sister-in-law, Betty Suchor, Towner, ND, and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents; brothers, George, Jr., Frank, Peter and John Suchor; sisters, Hannah Newell, Emma Magers, Magdaline Suchor, Mary Schmidt and an infant sister. Funeral: Monday, February 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Visitation and vigil service: Sunday, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. with the vigil prayer service at 5:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. Celebrant of the Liturgies: Father Bruce Krebs Service Participants Music Honorary Bearers: Elizabeth’s family and friends Active Bearers: Leo Suchor, John Suchor, Paul Suchor, Jerome Suchor, Valentine Suchor, LaVern Suchor, Fred Schmidt, Clay Rein Following the funeral everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the lower level of the church. Those attending the graveside service are asked to step to your vehicles prior to 12:30 p.m. We will follow in procession, leaving from the north parking lot of the church. Please drive with caution.
