Margaret Louise Schloer 1913 - 2004

Margaret Louise Schloer, 91, Stanley, ND, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004, in a Minot medical center.

Margaret was born January 21, 1913, on the family farm in rural Burlington, ND, the daughter of David and Theresa (Goebel) Houston. She was raised in rural Burlington and attended Burlington School through the 8th grade. Margaret married Robert Schloer on February 11, 1934, in Foxholm, ND. They made their home in Burlington all their married life. Robert passed away on July 29, 1977.
Margaret was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, and a former member of St. Francis of Assisi. She was also a member of the Moose and Eagles Auxiliaries, and the Burlington Senior Citizens.

Margaret enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching soap opera's, cooking, baking, puzzles, camping, fishing and traveling.

Surviving family includes: daughter, JoAnn Brown, Berthold;sons, Jerry (Julene) Schloer, Burlington and James "Jim" (Kathryn) Schloer, Grand Island, NE; 11 grandchildren; Teresa Kinney, Marilyn Peisar, Gary Brown, and Darla Steele, Dan Schloer, Karen (Don) Cree, David (Laura) Schloer, Cheri (Kevin) Bellany, Cheryl (John) Green, Julie (Bob) Scheel, and Kim (Stan) Lilienthal; 19 great-grandchildren; Sarah Hanson, Kelsey and Kinley Slauter, Karley Kinney, Dustin, Dillon, and Diedra Steele, Casey Peisar, Karla (Brandon) Athey, Kristen and Kassie Kilbourn, Kallie and Breanna Schloer, Emily and Jesse Schloer, Corey Schloer, Devin Gall, Wyatt and Collin Lilienthal; three great-great-grandchildren; Isiah and Alexis Slauter; and Jordan Hanson;brother, Harold Houston, Burlington;sisters-in-law, Beulah Goebel, Burlington and Marie Schloer, Auburn, WA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schloer; parents, David and Theresa Houston; son-in-law, Harry Brown; brother, Murle Houston; and sister-in-law, Armilla Houston.

Funeral: Monday, October 4, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday, October 3, 2004, from Noon until 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Prayer Service: Sunday at 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
