Ida Margaret Schimke 1909 - 2005 Ida Margaret Schimke, 85, Minot, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, in a Minot nursing home. She was born on December 25, 1919, in Sheridan County 13 miles south of Butte, ND, the daughter of John D. and Carolina (Spear) Dockter. She attended the Consolidated School in Holmes Township, Sheridan County. She worked for a time at the Jesz Cream Station in Butte, ND and for the Empress Café in Drake, ND. She married Hilbert Schimke on December 8, 1939, in Turtle Lake, ND. Following their marriage the couple lived and farmed 8 miles south of Butte in Byersville Township. In 1975, they moved to Minot and in 1978, they retired from farming. Hilbert died on July 23, 1991, in Minot. Ida entered Edgewood Vista Assisted Living center in December of 1995. Ida was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Eagles Aerie and the Minot Senior Citizens Center all of Minot and was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Butte. Survivors: sons, James (Dori) Schimke, Desert Hot Springs, CA and Ronald (Patricia) Schimke, Minot; grandchildren, Jay (Aimee), Bradley (Michele), Kory, and Heidi Schimke; Kim (Lee) Hunsperger; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Patrick, and Alex Schimke and Kristen and Ricky Hunsperger; brother, Clifford Dockter, Garrison; sister, Violet Schott, Minot and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilbert, her parents, brothers, Albert, Edwin, Harold, Bert, and Ervin, and grandson, Jon Schimke. Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot Visitation: Monday, May 16, 2005, from Noon until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
