Marvin Schilling 1943 - 2010

Marvin Gene Schilling was born on January 2, 1943, a son of John and Clara (Rygh) Schilling in Turtle Lake, ND. He was confirmed at East Crooked Lake Lutheran Church and attended Arena Township Country School in Turtle Lake through the 8th grade. He began working construction as a young adult.

On July 15, 1967, Marvin was united in marriage to Deanna Vetter in Velva, ND. The couple made their home in Minot for a few years before moving to Surrey ND, where they lived for over 20 years. After the children left home, they moved into Minot. Deanna died November 18, 2000. Marvin continued to live in Minot.

Marvin worked as a machinist for various companies, including Terhorst Manufacturing, Morris Rod Weeder, Central Machine and Minot Welding.  In May of 1998, he completed the Northern Border Pipeline Company Training Program, which sent him to various locations throughout ND. He spent much time away from home. Ill health forced Marvin to less strenuous work, which led him to the Goodwill store in Minot, where he helped out and did various jobs when needed.

He was a member of the Surrey Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

                Son: Daren (Lisa) Schilling, Minot; daughter Tina (J.R.) Rennolds, Minot; grandchildren: Gabrielle Rennolds, Minot Brandon Rennolds, Minot, Kylie Schilling, Lakeville, MN; Brandon Gullickson, Minot  and Brittany Gullickson, Minot; brother: LaVerne (Judy) Schilling, Tempe, AZ; sisters: Gayle (special friend Carroll Howell) Ritchey, Arcadia, FL, Gloria (Jim) Bauer, Ruso, ND, Lynelle (Steve) Bossert, Jamestown, ND, Lynnae (Carvel) Lick, Turtle Lake, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Marvin was preceded in death by parents and wife Deanna Schilling.

Visitation:  There will be no reviewal, however people may sign a guest book on Monday, one hour prior to the service at Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot

Memorial Service: Monday, July 26, 2010, at 10 am at Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial:  Rosehill Memorial park, Minot
