Helen Schiele 1933 - 2005 Helen Schiele, 72, 1618 6th St SE, Minot, ND, died Saturday, June 4, 2005, in a Minot hospital. She was born on May 27, 1933, in Minot, ND, the daughter of Walter and Ida (Salseg) Herdt. She was raised on the family farm and educated in Glenburn, ND. Helen was united in marriage to George Schiele on June 27, 1951, in Minot. The couple made their home on a farm in Karlsruhe, ND, until they moved to Minot in 1976. Helen worked for Schatz's Crossroads, the Holiday Inn, the Americana and later Gladys's Place all Minot. Helen enjoyed spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed taking care of her great-grandson, Willie. Survivors: husband, George, Minot; daughters, Eunice Herdt and Virginia Schiele, both of Minot; sons, Edward Schiele, Minot, Kenneth (Lori) Schiele, Norwich, and Bryan (Janel) Schiele, Minot; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Irene) Herdt, Gillette, WY, Bob (Della) Herdt, St. John, ND, Raymond (Carol) Herdt, Bloomington, MN, Harold Herdt, Dunseith, ND, and Frank (Frances) Herdt, Burnsville, MN; sisters, Beverly (Joe) Merck, Bagley, MN, Hazel (Don) Blackketter, Watertown, MN, Dolly Newgard, Minot, Sally (Lee) Poindexter, Defuniak Springs, FL, and Frances (Bill) Secord, Delavan, WI; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her son, Darrell, her parents and brother, Walter and sisters, Betty Fosness and Joyce Fosness. Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, June 10, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church, Minot Visitation: Thursday, June 9, 2005 from Noon until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Prayer Service: Thursday, June 9, 2005, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
