Lyle J. Schettler 1935 2004 Lyle J. Schettler, 69, Kenmare, formerly of Donnybrook, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 in the Kenmare hospital. Lyle J. Schettler was born March 7, 1935, the son of Carl and Clara (Voigt) Schettler in Winona, MN. He was reared and educated in Elbowoods, ND, and graduated from Elbowoods High School in 1953. After graduation, Lyle worked for the Struksnes Construction Company. He returned to the family farm, which is located in the Carbondale Township, near Donnybrook, he assisted his parents in the day to day operations of the farm. Lyle married Betty Lou Johnson on June 22, 1960 in Donnybrook, ND. They made their home in the Dunseith area, raising livestock, before returning again to the family farm, which they eventually purchased. Lyle continued raising milk cows and range cows until his retirement in July of 2000, when the couple moved to Kenmare. Lyle entered the Kenmare Community Hospital swing bed unit in July of 2003 where he resided until the time of his death. Lyle was a member of the Donnybrook school board, and a member and trustee of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where he taught CCD classes. He also served on the cemetery board. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Lou, sons, Jeff
