Kenny Savelkoul • 1961 - 2011

Kenny Savelkoul, 49, Lansford, ND, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at his home.

Kenneth Steven Savelkoul  was born on October 27, 1961, a son of Donald and Audrey (Maxton) Savelkoul in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Glenburn, ND, graduating from Glenburn High School in 1980. He furthered his education by attending the North Dakota State College of Science at Wahpeton, ND, where he graduated with honors with a degree in Auto Body Repair.  

On June 8, 1985, Kenny was united in marriage to Vickie Goettle, at St. Philomena’s Catholic Church in Glenburn. They made their home in Glenburn for two years before moving to Lansford, where Kenny assisted his father with the operations of the family farm.

Kenny was a member of the St. John Catholic Church, Lansford, ND, the Mouse River Loop Pheasants, Lansford City Council, Fire Department, Renville Bottineau Ag Improvement Association and the Jaycee’s.

Kenny enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping at Deep Water Bay. He was a great entertainer and always ready with a joke. His ability to smoke meat was second to none. He was a loving husband, dad, son, brother, son-in-law and uncle and will be missed by all that knew him.

Mother Audrey Savelkoul, Minot; siblings: Stanley (Linda) Savelkoul, Lansford, ND, Bruce Savelkoul, Minot, Scott (Myra) Savelkoul, Hazen, ND, Brian (Cindy) Savelkoul, Colorado Springs, CO, JoAnne (Bob) Kirk, Keller, TX and Carolyn (Pete) Pedersen, Beulah, ND; mother and father in law : Dale (Betty) Goettle, Donnybrook, ND; brothers and sisters-in-law: Gayle (Tom) Lawson, Donnybrook, Dean Goettle, Judith Gap, MT, Terry (Terry) O’Clair, Bismarck, ND, Linda (companion Ray Berg) Lawson, Bismarck, Patty (Larry) Vincent, Lewiston, ID, Dawn Rae (Jason) Loughran, Kooskia, ID; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father Donald, brother Henry, sister-in-law Anna Marie Savelkoul and brother-in-law Mark Goettle.
