Leila Marie Sandvik 1927 - 2002 Leila Marie Sandvik, 75, Kenmare, died Wednesday, December 11, 2002, in Kenmare. She was born November 8, 1927, in Williston, ND, the daughter of Willie William and Elsie (Hillstead) Washek. She was reared and educated in Williston and graduated from Williston High School in 1945. She married Leroy Sandvik in 1945, at First Lutheran Church, Williston. The couple moved from Williston to Mesa, AZ in 1945, where Leroy served in the United States Air Force. The couple moved back to Williston in 1947, where they lived on the family farm for a short time before moving into Williston. In 1953, the couple moved to Kenmare where they purchased the Coast-to-Coast Store. Leila remained in Kenmare until her death. She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, the Ruth Circle, Kenmare Hospital Auxiliary, Bridge Club, Samovar and the Eastern Star. She was active with the Kenmare Nursing Home Committee and was a confirmation teacher. Leila was also a volunteer with Kenmare Hospice. Leila loved spending time at Lake Metigoshe with her family. Survivors: husband, Leroy, Kenmare; sons, Terry Sandvik
(Irma), Bainville, MT and Scott Sandvik (Carol), Valley City,
ND; daughters, Billiette Harris (Jack), Minot, ND, Lori Sandvik
and companion Laura Welle and Mary Beth Guttormson (Jeff), all
of West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Todd and Kipp Harris, Tami
Frame, Lisa Allen, Tera, Jessica and Jennifer Sandvik; great-grandchildren,
Darian and Dawson Harris, Tylar Frame and Jade Allen; numerous
step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law,
Kitty Washek Dill, Minot; niece, Tawny Quist; nephew, Jay Washek,
both Minot. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother
