Marie M. Sandhofner, 91, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 in a Minot nursing home.

Marie Anton was born June 3, 1917 in Drake, ND to John and Kate (Loesch) Anton. She was raised and attended school in Drake. As a young girl she was a waitress in Velva and Harvey.

She married Otto Hulsebus, January 21, 1941in Billings, MT. They lived in Butte, ND and operated Otto's Bar. Otto passed away March 9, 1957. She married William Sandhofner in Butte on June 9, 1960. They continued to operate the bar until 1968 when the bar was sold. They lived in Butte until moving to Minot in August of 1992. Bill passed away August 10, 1999. She continued to live in Minot moving to Edgewood Vista in December 2003 and to Trinity Homes on March 9, 2009. She was an inspector of elections in Butte for many years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Butte, where she served as treasurer. She was later a member at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. She loved animals, music and dancing.

Those who shared in her life, daughters, Bonnie (Charles) Hendrickson, Central Point, OR and Patricia (Ronald) Schimke, Minot; grandsons, Blair Hendrickson, Central Point, OR and Bradley Schimke, Minot; great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Jeremy (Marianne) Hendrickson, Matthew, Patrick and Alex Schimke and Joshua, Brandon and John Hendrickson; great-great grandchildren, Kylee and Emylie; sisters, Minnie Quammen, Plentywood, MT and Catherine (Maurice) Selberg, Paradise, CA; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents, grandson, Christopher Hendrickson; brothers, Donald, John and Billy; sisters, Helen Anton, Margaret Davis, Anne Armstrong and Gertrude Fadness.

Funeral: Friday, April 3, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Butte Cemetery, Butte, ND in the spring.
