Frieda Radomski Sandberg
1919 - 2006 Frieda Radomski Sandberg, 86, Velva, ND, died Monday, February 6, 2006, in her home. Frieda Caroline Wojahn was born on November 2, 1919, the daughter of Julius and Caroline (Grunseth) Wojahn on the family farm south of Velva, ND. She was raised there and graduated from Velva High School in 1938. Frieda married Dawald Radomski on September 25, 1939. They lived west of Sawyer, ND, where they owned and operated the Valley Garage. She lived there until Dawald's death on September 11, 1949. She then moved to Velva where she raised her six children. She worked in the Velva school system as a cook from 1962 to 1976. Frieda was married to Warren Sandberg on June 19, 1973, at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva. They enjoyed camping and fishing together. Warren passed away on January 1, 1986. She attended Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, and was a member of the Velva Senior Citizens. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking, being outdoors enjoying the sun. She made the world's best lefse, and would pick chokecherries and grapes and then make jelly out of them. Her loving family includes: children, Diane (James) Scheresky, Max, ND, Annetta (Vernon) Peplow, Hazen, ND, Carolyn (Alvin) Aaseth, Wheatland, WY, Gary (Therise) Radomski, Apple Valley, MN, and Darrell (Elly) Radomski, Mandan, ND;19 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie (Walt) Saastad, Sawyer, ND; sister-in-law, Myrtle Wojahn, Velva; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dave Radomski, husband, Warren Sandberg, son, Allan Radomski; grandson, Richard Peplow; brothers, Paul and Hugo Wojahn; sisters, Hilda Hatley, and Lila Olson; and an infant sister, Clara Wojahn.
