Braden "Brady" Samson • 1986-2005

Braden John "Brady" Samson, 19, 2533 10th Ave. NW, Minot, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, following a life-long courageous struggle with Muscular Dystrophy.

Brady was born May 11, 1986, in Minot, ND, the son of Gary and Carmen (Pringle) Samson. He was raised in Minot, attending Bel Air Elementary, Ramstad Junior High School, and Minot High School, where he graduated in 2005. Brady planned to attend Minot State University this fall.

Brady was the recipient of several honors, awards and achievements over the years. He served as class president and student council member. He earned many academic honors and was also honored as student of the month and year. He was awarded the Magician Award, and was a DECA Club member. Brady was the Minot High School Hockey Web Page Master and an honorary member of the MHS Hockey Team. He was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Brady was chosen as the ND Muscular Dystrophy Poster Child. He and his family participated in local Muscular Dystrophy Telethons.

Some of the memorable events in Brady's life include, being a youth hockey player, his hot air balloon ride, and being a passenger in a float plane. He was the recipient of Make-A-Wish Foundation and the founder and team host of Saturday Poker Club.

Brady touched many people. He made a difference in the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. His quiet, kind, and sensitive mannerisms spoke more than words could ever express. Brady's mere presence and witty sense of humor brought smiles to those around him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Those Who Shared In His Life: Parents, Gary and Carmen Samson, Minot; brother, Matthew Samson, Minot; grandparents, Lyle and Helen Samson, Minot; aunts and uncles, Tom (Lynn) Samson, Rugby, ND, Alan (Marilyn) Pringle, San Bruno, CA, Debby (Alan) Marshall, Towner, ND; cousins, Afton and Brett Samson, Amber, Daniel, Alyssa and Tyson Marshall, Keith and Alaina Pringle; and his very dedicated friend, Susan Dodd, a loving paraprofessional, by his side for many years.

Brady was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Morrella Pringle.

Funeral Mass: Sunday, July 31, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation and Public Prayer Service: Visitation will be Saturday, July 30, 2005 (today) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, with the public vigil prayer service Saturday at 7:00 p.m., at St. John's Catholic Church, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
