Sylvia "Sally" (Styer) Ruhnke 1909 - 2003

Sylvia "Sally" (Styer) Ruhnke, 92, Bowbells, ND, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at a Minot nursing home.

She was born July 17, 1909, at Mekinock, ND, the daughter of Carl and Syneva (Muri) Styer.

Sally married Herman Ruhnke on October 5, 1939, in Crookston, MN. The couple farmed just south of Coteau, ND for many years. Herman died on November 7, 1976.

Sally was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bowbells. She served as secretary for the church's women's organization for over 30 years.

Survivors: sons, Gary Ruhnke, Bowbells, ND, and David Ruhnke and his wife Gloria, West Fargo, ND; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Walt Styer and his wife Delores, Minneapolis, MN; sister, Peg Luttropp, Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brother, Albin and sisters, Gladys, Mabel and Josephine.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at 2 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Bowbells.

Visitation: Tuesday, May13, 2003 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Bowbells.

Burial: Bowbells Community Cemetery, Bowbells.
