Edna Rude • 1926 - 2007 Edna was born on April 15, 1926, in Lunds Valley, ND, the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Lund) Ege. She was reared in Lunds Valley and graduated from Lunds Valley High School. Edna attended Minot State Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught school in Lostwood, ND, Battleview, ND, Bowden, ND and Kenmare. Edna married Fred Rude on June 17, 1951, and the couple made
their home in Kenmare where they raised their three children.
Fred and Edna owned and operated the Kenmare Theatre for ten
years and for 22 years have been going south for the winters. Survivors: husband of 56 years, Fred; children, Leah Ann Charnetzki (Wally Jensen), Gary (Deanna) Rude, all of Kenmare and Sandy (Gary) Elton, Gillette, WY; grandchlildren, Bobbi Jo (Tom) Nelson, Brian Charnetzki, Derrick Neuenfeld and Jen (Cody) Olsson; great-grandchildren, Michael and Chelsea Nelson; sisters, Alma Schultz, Placerville, CA, Evie Peterson, Mesa, AZ, Ruth Goranson, Devils Lake, ND and Thelma (Ray) Hagen, Kennewick, WA; brothers, Alven (Evelyn) Ege, Stanley, ND and Orvin (Olga) Ege, Crosby, ND, and special dog, Snowy. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, infant sister and brother, Eddie Ege. Funeral Service: Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.
