Lester V. "Les"
Rostad 1928 - 2003 He was born on December 25, 1928, in Carpio, ND, the son of Ole and Cora (Hanson) Rostad. He was raised and attended school in Foxholm, ND. On December 10, 1950, Les married Muriel "Lolly" Lallum, at Colgan, ND. Les entered the United States Army on December 6, 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict in the 85th Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged on September 9, 1953. Les was employed with Feist Construction as a Field Supervisor and then for Trinity Medical Center. He worked at Trinity for 16 ½ years in the carpentry department and retired in 1992. Les was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. He was active in the Magic City Antique Car Club and the Blue Grass and Old Time Music Association. His music friends were very special to him. His many friends and family will miss him. Survivors: wife, Muriel "Lolly", Minot; daughters, Cindy Goerner, Ladysmith, WI, Deanna Schaff (Nick), Mandan, ND, and Sherri Lund (Kent), Conrath, WI; nine grandchildren, Shelby, Lindsay, Kiah, Chelsea, Jessica, Sarah, Josh, Michael and Justin; four great-grandchildren, Jenica, Jodi, Nathan, and Michael; three brothers, Sanford Rostad (Janellen) Carpio, ND, Irven Rostad (Carol), Carpio, and Clayton Rostad (Carol Mae), Minot; sister, Adeline Bergeron, Minot; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Service: Friday, April 11, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. Visitation: Thursday, April 10, 2003, from Noon until 7 p.m. at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Private Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot. In Lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. Officiant: Rev.
