Carol Rosenthal • 1939 - 2011 Carol Steen was born May 10, 1939 in Coulee, ND to Carl and Edna (Rasmusson) Steen. She attended grade school in Kenmare and graduated from Minot Model High School in 1957. Carol was once married to Joseph Max Gieser and to this union six children were born. Carol enjoyed working with all the little children at Good Shepherd Daycare in Minot, where she worked for many years until retiring. On June 17, 1992 Carol married Bernard Rosenthal in Minot. Together they enjoyed going to the Moose Lodge, occasionally making a trip to the casino and she liked to play bingo. Carol was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who will be deeply missed. Those who shared in her life, Husband, Bernard, Minot; children, Joe Gieser, Linda (Randy) Nielsen, and Judy (Steve) Hoff, all of Minot; Bruce (Paula) Gieser, Lake Havasu City, AZ; stepson, Ron Rosenthal, and stepdaughter, Kathy (Steve) Gladback, all of Minot; grandchildren Janell Gieser, Brianna (Gabe) Strube, Brittany and Brady Nielsen, Bethny Hoff, Alex Gieser, Kayla Enget, Megan and Jared Gladback; brothers, Vernon Steen, Rapid City, SD, and Howard Steen, Minot, ND, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol was preceded in death by her sons, Kevin and Wayne Gieser; her parents, Carl and Edna Steen; brothers, Selmer and Leonard Steen and sister, Cora Shieferstein. Funeral: Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot ND. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register book Tuesday, September 6, 2011, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
